Compliance and delivery of design and as-built drawings

THE SITUATION

  • You have bid for all or part of a project from a major Australian mining company or government department/utility
  • Your bid is selected by the client or prime-contractor
  • You are required to supply a) design drawings for approval before you can start work and b) as-built drawings afterwards in order to receive payment
  • You are given rigid specifications for the format, composition and titleblocks.
  • Your regular drafting source doesn’t do that format – maybe the drawings need to be in MicroStation and you are using Autocad for example

  • Acquire and ramp-up all the appropriate software and design tools for this client, usually this will include the CADconform software from Corporate Montage which is specified by many of the major operators
